The chart on youth sports participation is what I’m trying to examine from a sports medicine perspective. Simply put, kids aren’t having fun. Adults are treating the 13-17 age group like Steph Curry or Tom Brady. They’re monetizing off of them and pushing them to specialize often and early. It may work for the Ball family, but it does not work for millions of children. Are we missing the next potential LeBron James because of this trend? Maybe.

Youth sports is very fragmented as well, there needs to be an overarching governing body...excited to see where your research goes with all of this.
