Interesting Stat
A pitch clock has shortened Minor League Baseball games by 20 minutes, per ESPN, setting the stage for MLB to implement a clock next season.
MLB games were lasting an average of 3 hours, 10 minutes.
The good news? That's one minute shorter than last season.
The bad news? That's over one hour longer than a century ago — and 20 minutes longer than the average game as recently as 2005.
Short Passage of The Week
“Passion is what makes life interesting, what ignites our love and carries our friendships, stimulates our intellect, and pushes our limits.”
-- Pat Tillman
On this day 18 years ago, Pat Tillman lost his life while serving his country in Afghanistan.
I never had the privilege of meeting Pat and I don’t pretend to know him, but from a distance he is a role model for me. It’s not his play on the football field that I most admire, or even his decision to leave millions of dollars on the table to serve his country.
Instead it’s the way he lived his life: with tremendous passion.
Whatever he did he brought all of his being to it. He loved to read books and learn new things. He loved to challenge himself and others to be the best that they could be. And he was a deeply loyal husband and friend.
People are drawn to those who approach life like that. Their passion lights us up on the inside and motivates us to be better.
Today if you want to honor Pat Tillman, live with passion. Whatever you do today bring your whole being to it.
Laugh loudly, cry, be a great friend, stimulate your intellect, make a difference in someone’s life, push yourself to get better at something. I’m guessing Pat would appreciate that more than any platitudes or grand gestures.

College programs enabling their athletes to profit will be at a major advantage in this new era of recruiting and college sports.
Former MLB player Cory Gearrin put out an interesting thread on the financial reality most professional athletes face👇
1) Fight rising inflation with rising income
Did you know in March of 2022 inflation rose 8.5%, the biggest rise in 12 months since the 80's!
This poses a huge financial question around how to prepare a plan for this type of event?
From professional athletes to recent college graduates, the best way to hedge inflation and protect your lifestyle in the future is by creating multiple streams of income.
In today's world of e-commerce and the gig economy there are endless ways to begin generating a new income stream and the money tip of the day is to start one.
Even if it is only $100 a month, the more legs you are standing on, the less likely the inflation wave will knock you over.
What To Keep An Eye On This Week
